Mrs. Rita Jordan

Dear Parents,

I know this year did not go how it was planned, but I am proud of our students and how they did this year. Thank you for all your support. I was enriched with being a part of your child’s education.

Enrichment activities for the rest of the school year may be found on my teacher webpage on the Morton website.

End of Year Computer and Charger Drop Off- Laptops and chargers should be dropped off only at MES. The drop off location for MES will be at the bus drop area. We'll be collecting the laptops directly from car windows, so there will be no need for parents or students to leave their vehicles. We encourage 5th graders to drop off computers on June 5th. Laptop drop off dates and times are 6/5, 6/8, 6/9 (12:00 pm - 7:00 pm). Students in any grade level may drop off their laptops & chargers any of these days.

Report card pickup, June 9th- Grades 5 will pass out report cards using the car rider line, 1:00-3:00. Some students wished to decorate their cars for the drive up.

Home Learning June 1- 9.  See Class Resources.

Parents,

Thank you for your cooperation and patience as we worked through generating student work for online learning.  Please see Class Resources for work for June 1-9.  If your child needs a printed copy, please let me know.  This work  will not need to be returned to me.   If you have any questions, please let me know.

My name is Rita Jordan. I am a native of Jacksonville, and graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1979. After college, I married someone in the military.  We moved away from and back to Jacksonville several times.  I've taught in North Carolina, South Carolina, Maine, and Virginia. I've taught grades third through sixth, both in the elementary setting and in middle school.   My favorite is what I'm teaching now, fifth grade.

So, I was lucky enough to gain a great deal of experience and knowledge in my travels. After my husband retired from the military, we moved back here once again.  My husband opened a small business, and I am now happy to say that we are here to stay. We have one daughter, named Emily and two dogs, one named Cocoa and the other named Grace.  I also have a twin sister.
