Mrs. Nicole Adams

My name is Nicole Adams and I am THRILLED to be the art educator here at the beautiful Richlands Elementary School. I have previously taught second through fourth grades. I am very active with Odyssey of the Mind, a creative problem solving competition that is available to students in Onslow County. I am native to New Jersey but live in Jacksonville with my husband, my son, our two dogs, and our cat.

I am excited to teach your child and participate as they learn and grow! Feel free to contact me anytime by email at

In college I worked for America Reads, a tutoring program that placed college tutors in low income schools. This sparked my interest in education, and I spent all my summers interning in various museums, including three children's programs. After graduating, I was accepted into the North Carolina Teacher Corps, a program run by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction to place non-education majors as lateral entry teachers into NC schools with the highest need. After teaching third grade in Kinston, I came to Onslow County Schools to teach second grade at Jacksonville Commons Elementary. After three rewarding years at JCE and one at Northwoods Elementary, I am tickled pink to be joining the Richlands Elementary School family as the art teacher!

I attended Elon University in Elon, NC. I graduated early in January of 2013 with a BA in art history and a BA in strategic communications. Immediately following, I attended East Carolina University for my NC teacher's certification. I have just completed my Academically/Intellectually Gifted license through a generous partnership between ECU and Onslow County Schools.
