My name is Shelley Newsome. I grew up in Jacksonville, NC. My love for learning started here at Northwoods Elementary, where I attended first grade! After graduating from Jacksonville High School, I enrolled at East Carolina University where I received a Masters degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Reading. This is my 37th year of teaching. 

I have two beautiful daughters and three precious grandchildren. My husband and I enjoy traveling, reading, playing with our pets, and spending time with our family.
