Ms. Tracy McIntyre

Biography

"Laughter is medicine for the soul." is one my quotes that I live by. I was born and raised in Syracuse,NY but fell in love with the oceans of NC on a family trip. Living in Swansboro is such an incredible experience. My beautiful daughter and I enjoy going on adventures together and having new experiences. Our two cats keep us both on our toes. 

Education

I received my Bacholars degree in Education on May 15, 1999 at Oswego State University in Oswego, NY. My degree includes a Science concentration with a middle school extension.

I received my Masters degree in Elementary Education on December 19, 2015 at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. This degree also includes AIG certification. 

Experience

I have been teaching for over 24 years, 15 years in Onslow County Schools at Richlands Elementary and 5 years at Queens Queek Elementary. I have taught grades second through 7th grade. My specialty lies in math and especially in Science.

I have transitioned from being a coach from Odyssey of the Mind to being on the Odyssey of the Mind State Board and the North Carolina PC (Problem Captain) for the Primary Problem. I am enjoying the experience as a judge.  

I also began the first underwater robotic club in Onslow County. Robotic Engineer Club competed with middle and high schoolers with their underwater ROV at competition. They learned alot about the experience and so did I as a first time coach of such a club.

Some other positions include coaching the Science Olympiad team, the coach for the Math Counts team, and being a mentor.
