Mrs. Katherine Alphin

Following graduation at Richlands High School in 1990, I attended Coastal Carolina Community College. At CCCC, I received an Associate in Arts Degree. After graduating from CCCC, I attended East Carolina University where I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. In 2005, I completed the National Board Certification program. I am now considered a National Board Certified teacher. During the summer of 2009, I completed my Masters in Elementary Education from UNC-Wilmington. In 2015, I renewed my National Board Certification.

In the fall of 1994, I student taught in fourth grade at Northwoods Elementary School. Beginning in January of 1995, I started teaching at Clyde Erwin Elementary School where I taught second and third grade.  In August of 2000, I transferred to Richlands Elementary School. At RES I taught fourth grade from 2000 to 2012. I also taught fifth grade from 2012 to 2014. For the 2014 - 2015 school year, I returned to fourth grade. I have been teaching fourth grade since then.
