Mrs. Katherine Alphin

Following graduation from Richlands High School in 1990, I attended Coastal Carolina Community College. At CCCC, I received an Associate in Arts Degree. After graduating from CCCC, I attended East Carolina University where I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. In 2005, I completed the National Board Certification program and am now considered a National Board Certified teacher. During the summer of 2009, I completed my Masters in Elementary Education from UNC-Wilmington. In 2015, I renewed my National Board Certification.

In the fall of 1994, I completed student teaching in fourth grade at Northwoods Elementary School. Beginning in January of 1995, I began my teaching career at Clyde Erwin Elementary School, where I taught second and third grade.  In August of 2000, I transferred to Richlands Elementary School. At RES, I have taught fourth and fifth grade. During the 2020-2021 school year, I transitioned to the Exceptional Childrens team.  I currently work with students in grades kindergarten - fifth.
