I taught Kindergarten for two years at a christian academy.  I spent five years In Okinawa Japan as an assistant in an elementary school working with children who have Autism.  I taught three years in Beaufort SC in the first (2)and fourth grades (1). I have been with RES for the past 8 years.  I have taught Third (2), Fifth grade (4) and Science Lab (2).

I was the 2014-15 

Science/STEM teacher of the year for RES

I was the 2015-16

Teacher of the Year for RES, the Science Olympiad coach, the Science Safety Facilitator, Science TLP member & Science and Engineering Fair contact and Science Lab Teacher.

I was the 2016-17

Science Lab instructor, Science Olympiad coach, Science TLP member, AVID team member,RES Strategic Planning Committee member &  STRIDE assistant coach

2017-18  I returned to the 5th grade classroom!



I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington 

I attended Converse College in South Carolina and received a certificate for teaching Talented and Gifted children.  

I received my North Carolina AIG Certification through ECU


I am the wife of a Retired United States Marine, and have been married for 27 years.  I have a daughter who graduated  from Lander University in Greenwood SC (Go Bearcats!) and is now married to a police officer in Jacksonville. These two beautiful people have made me a GRANDMA- I am so in love!!  I have a son who graduated from Richlands High 2015 and  who is now a Marine stationed here at Camp Lejeune with his beautiful wife Danielle. I am originally from Louisville KY however; Richlands is our home now and forever more.
