Professional Mission Statement:

My goal is to instill bravery, passion, and joy within my students. I believe that students can and will achieve anything they dream or desire. My role as an educator is to be an advocate for my students. I believe that teachers should strive for excellence over perfection and carry joy to fuel their classroom.

 Experience

I am Riley Giddings. This is my second year here at Heritage and my 7th year teaching. I have previously taught 3rd grade(MY FAV), 2nd grade, and last year I taught Kindergarten. I am so excited to be moving back to 3rd grade. It is the grade that I started teaching in and my favorite grade because students are transitioning into higher levels and more responsibility. It’s like watching little leaders sprout up throughout the year.

Education

I am a product of Duplin County Schools having attended Rose Hill- Magnolia Elementary, Charity Middle, and Wallace- Rose Hill High School. I attended Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. After growing up near the beach, a change of scenery during college was great. I loved being in the mountains and enjoyed a lot of new activities such as snowboarding, bouldering, jumping off of waterfalls, and lots of hiking. After graduating from ASU, I returned to Duplin County. I taught in Duplin County for 5 years before moving to Onslow County last year.

Bio

I bought my own home 3 years ago in Beulaville, NC. In my free time I love playing soccer, games of any kind, running, writing, painting, spending time with my family and friends and going to church. In the future, I would like to complete my Master’s in Educational Leadership and start schools all over the world.
