A Little About Me

I grew up in a military family as both of my parents served in the Navy.  I was born in Florida but consider North Carolina home since most of my life has been spent here.  I lived in the mountains of North Carolina while attending Western Carolina University and absolutely loved it.  However, I moved here in August 2017 and have enjoyed being near the beach!

Teaching Experience

I was inspired to become an elementary teacher because of the wonderful educators I had when I was in school.  They helped me develop a love for reading and learning. Now I strive to do the same with my students. 

While at WCU, I earned a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education (K-6) as well as a Reading Certification (K-12).  I began teaching in August 2010 with Pitt County Schools. During my 7 years there, I had the privilege of teaching all subjects to students in grades 3-6. I moved to Onslow County in August 2017 and have been a part of the Sand Ridge family for 6 years now!

For the 2022-2023 school year, I will be teaching English Language Arts to all 5th graders.
