Elementary Education K-6 Reading License K-12
I was born on Camp Lejeune. As a child I got to live in several states on the east coast and in Okinawa, Japan. In fourth grade, my father was stationed at Camp Lejeune again and we moved to Swansboro. I graduated from Swansboro High School and then East Carolina University. I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (K-6) along with a reading license (K-12). After graduating college, I moved to back to Swansboro, married, and have twin girls that will be graduating from Swansboro High School this year. When we are not on a soccer field, I enjoy the beach, boating, and camping.
This is my 23rd year teaching at Silverdale Elementary. As a Reading Specialist, I have worked with students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. I have taught fifth grade, third grade, and Kindergarten throughout my years as an educator.
I serve as the Chair for the Staff Lighthouse Team and Strategic Planning Team. I also guide the Student Leadership Lighthouse Team.
I was the 2017-2018 Silverdale Teacher of the Year.
