Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! My name is Danielle McBarron, and this is my first year teaching the EC Adaptive Curriculum at Dixon High School. I am excited to have the opportunity to teach your child and can’t wait to get this year started! I have many things planned this year to ensure a positive learning environment where our students can succeed in their education and be prepared to transition to life, learning, and work beyond high school.
To start off, I’d also like to tell you a little about myself both personally and professionally. I am originally from Goldsboro, NC but currently live in Swansboro, NC. Some of my favorite things are my cat Clive Henry, thrifting, the mountains, and sharing a delicious and beautiful meal with good friends. I went to Regent University where I obtained my bachelor's degree in Psychology. Right after college, I worked overseas with a nonprofit organization to plant churches on college campuses. For a brief time, I served as a Registered Behavior Technician for children with autism where I gained hands-on experience in ABA therapeutic strategies. I am currently enrolled in the Residency Teaching Program at ECU and have been working closely with the Adaptive Curriculum at DHS for the past 3+ years and have enjoyed every moment of serving our EC students in this capacity. I have a passion for helping students live out their full potential, and I am looking forward to all that this year has in store for us as we go on a journey of learning and growing together.
I would also like to work closely with you, and I believe frequent communication and collaboration is vital. If you would like to send me notes or have any questions/concerns you can email me at email@example.com. You can also call the school office at (910) 347-2958.
Be sure to keep up with our classroom daily or weekly by checking the classroom Twitter @Miss_McBarron and visiting this Teacher Webpage.
I am looking forward to a wonderful school year!
