Miss McBarron

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! My name is Danielle McBarron. I am looking forward to serving as the adaptive teacher at DMS. I have spent the last 5+ years working in the adaptive setting and have loved getting to serve our EC students in this capacity. I have a passion for fostering student growth, presuming the competence of all learners, and advocating for the celebration and inclusion of all students with disabilities in the educational environment! Thank you for joining me on this journey and allowing me the privilege of partnering with you in your child’s care and education! It’s going to be an amazing year!

To start off, I’d also like to tell you a little about myself both personally and professionally. I am originally from Goldsboro, NC but currently live in Swansboro, NC. Some of my favorite things are my cats, Henry and Katara, thrifting, the mountains, and sharing a delicious and beautiful meal with good friends. I went to Regent University where I obtained my bachelor's degree in Psychology. Right after college, I worked overseas with a nonprofit organization to plant churches on college campuses. For a brief time, I served as a Registered Behavior Technician for autistic clients where I gained hands-on experience in ABA therapeutic strategies. I am currently enrolled in the Residency Teaching Program at ECU and will be finishing up my supervised internship this semester. I have a passion for helping students live out their full potential, and I am looking forward to all that this year has in store for us as we go on a journey of learning and growing together.

I would also like to work closely with you, and I believe frequent communication and collaboration is vital. If you would like to send me notes or have any questions/concerns you can email me at danielle.mcbarron@onslow.k12.nc.us. You can also call the school office at (910) 347-2738.
