I was born and raised here in Onslow County, and attended Dixon schools through graduation. Upon graduation I accepted the Teaching Fellows scholarship for UNCG and moved up to Greensboro to complete my Bachelor degree in elementary education, all the while coming back down to the beach every summer.
I graduated in 2013 from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a concentration in mathematics. I later added the areas of middle grades math and science to my teaching license. I have a Master's Degree in Instructional Technology from East Carolina University and I am working on a Master's in Science Education.
This is my 10th year teaching. My first two years in teaching I taught in fourth and fifth grade in High Point, North Carolina. When I moved back here I taught 7th grade science for two years before getting moved up to 8th grade.
