Mrs. Erica M. Boone
Hello. I was a full-time RN before joining the Career & Technical Education (CTE) program as a health science teacher in August of 2016. I started out at Jacksonville High School and am now at Southwest High School for the Spring 2019 semester. I am married to a wonderful man and we have 3 dogs, 2 daughters, and 3 sons. We currently live in Duplin County but I grew up and attended school in the Richlands area until going to the NC School of Science and Math to complete my junior and senior years of high school. After graduation, I attended Coastal Carolina Community College to obtain my Associate Degree in Nursing (2000), then my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UNC-Wilmington in 2009, and finally my Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix in 2014. I spent 5 years in a private practice clinic specializing in ear, nose, & throat, 5 years in public health, and 6 years in community case management before joining the Onslow County School System. I still maintain a part-time faculty nursing position with Western Governors University. Obviously, I believe in staying busy, the importance of education, and the pursuit of knowledge and excellence. I love getting to know my students but I especially love seeing them excel beyond even their own expectations. I look forward to a wonderful, productive semester with your young adult in my classes.
