Mrs. Samantha Newcomb

I am a graduate of South Lenoir High School in Deep Run, a quaint farming community in southern Lenoir County. I am a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority from my alma mater Barton College. I represented my chapter in several leadership roles throughout college and I am still active in the alumni chapter. I am also a member of the Young Professionals of Lenoir County in which I am also active.

I graduated from Barton College in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. I have a Certification in Forensic Nursing from Kaplan University. I have a Cerficiation as a Pharmacy Technician. I am also certified CPR and First Aide Instructor. I am currently obtaining my Master's In Nursig Education at Western Governors University. 

 I have been a practicing Registered Nurse for 2 years. I have worked the majority of that time in a hospital setting. I worked in the Family Birthing Center as a Neonatal nurse. I have also worked in a Gastroenterology office performing pre op and post op procedures for patients having a colonscopy and endoscopy. I have worked as a Certfied Nursing Assistant from high school through college and until I obtained my Nursing licensure.

I am very excited to be teaching Health Occupations at Jacksonville High School. I hope to be able to enrich and intrigue my students in the health care field.

I have taught numerous classes at Jacksonville High over the past 6 years. The classes include Allied Health Sciences I, Biomedical Technology, Health Sciences I , Health Sciences II, Health Team Relations, Nursing Fundamentals, Pharmacy Tech.
