• Hello Parents and Students,

Due to the closure of schools, I will be posting assignments/lectures/notes virtually through Microsoft Teams starting Wednesday, March 18th, 2020 through May 29th, 2020.

To access Teams, students should log into their Microsoft Office 365 account daily to see posts and assignments.

I will also be keeping PowerSchool up to date with grades so students/parents should also be checking PowerSchool daily.

From June 1st through June 9th there are supplemental resources that students can access for their class (biology or physical science).

There is a separate page for each subject with resources and work students can complete to supplement their learning during this time.

Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Jasmine Edgren

My name is Jasmine Edgren and I love science. I am from Carteret County and I graduated from North Carolina Wesleyan College in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science degree. I majored in Biomedical Science and also received a minor in Mathematics. After receiving my undergrade I completed the NCTeach Program at East Carolina University. I have enjoyed working at Northside High School and being apart of the Monarch family since 2017. I attended AVID Summer Institute 2019 in the High School Implementation Strand and I am excited to be teaching an AVID elective class paired with biology this year. My goal as a teacher is to daily inspire students to find their passions and encourage them to become life-long learners. I want students to find their niche!

This year I will be teaching AVID Honors Biology, Physical Science and Biology.

Biology is a graduation requirement and has an End of Course (EOC) Exam. Biology is a natural science that studies life and living organisms.

Physical Science a course that meets one of the science graduation requirements and has a North Carolina Final Exam. It is an introductory course to chemistry and physics.
