Mr. Chad Stevens
Bio: Hello! Welcome back to another year at Jacksonville High School. This is my fourth year teaching Math at JHS and I previously coached baseball here from 2012-2016. Like every other year, I look forward to teaching and guiding these students as they transition into life after high school. I have lived in Jacksonville, NC since being stationed at MCAS New River in 1996 with the Marine Corps. I am married to a local Southwest girl and we have been together for 26 years. I have one daughter, who is 27 and lives in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, and a 24-year-old son that recently graduated from Appalachian State University after two years at Carolina Coast Community College.
I am an avid traveler, enjoying outdoor activities, historical places, and great food. The mountains are my absolute favorite place to be and I take a guys trip each year to new places all over the country, hiking, repelling and any other fun activities the local area has to offer.
I am a die-hard University of Michigan football fan! My son and I have taken in a few bucket list items and attended a Michigan/Ohio State football game in Ann Arbor, The Big 10 Championship in Indianapolis and the Fiesta Bowl in Phoenix. Go Blue!
Education: I earned my Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Education from East Carolina University in 2015. Prior to attending East Carolina University, I earned my Associate's Degree from Coastal Carolina Community College.
Experience: This is my ninth year of teaching and my seventh year teaching high school. Prior to teaching high school, I interned at Hunters Creek Middle and then taught 7th grade Math there for two more years. While in college, I was first an AVID tutor and then a substitute teacher for Onslow County Schools.
