Degrees and Certifications:
I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I have lived in Pennsylvania for the majority of my life, but I have family and friends all over the United States. I love being able to visit them, and I love traveling! I always try to take advantages of opportunities to experience new places and cultures. I have already been to quite a few places in both the United States and abroad, but I am not any where close to checking off everything on my bucket list!
"Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." -Mark Twain
In addition to traveling, I love to read, and I love books! Some may say that I have too many books, but I love having the opportunities to use my imagination and explore various genres of literature. I truly believe that knowledge is power.
I attended the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville for two years, and then I relocated to the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown where I graduated with my Secondary English Teaching Degree.
Recently, I graduated with my Master's of Education in Literacy with a Reading Specialist Certification from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
After I graduated with my teaching degree, I moved to Johnstown, Pennsylvania where I worked for three years in the Greater Johnstown School District. I taught 7-12 English at Greater Johnstown Alternative Learning Center and sixth grade English and Reading. In addition to teaching, I tutored students in both reading and math at the school's after school program and summer program.
