Degrees and Certifications:

AAS Paralegal Technology AA General BS Special Education

Mrs. Tonya Dunn

I have lived here for 30 years.  My husband and I raised our five children here in Onslow County.

I attended Coastal Carolina Community College and graduated with an AAS in Paralegal Technology, AA degree in general studies, so I could transfer to ECU, to get a degree in Special Education (general and adaptive).

I graduated from ECU in 2012 and started working as a Exceptional Children's teacher that fall at Northwoods Park Middle.  I was transferred to Jacksonville Commons Middle where I worked for 2.5 years in both the general and adaptive settings as the Lead EC teacher.  I transferred to Richlands High School in 2017.  While at Richlands High School, I taught Support for Interventions, Inclusion Math I, English II, English III, and Occupational Preparation (OCS).  I transferred to Northwoods Elementary in the fall of 2020. I am excited to be at Hunter's Creek Middle School as the new adaptive teacher. I am excited about returning to middle school, where I got my start as an exceptional children's assistant teacher.

Here at Hunters Creek, I have started a School Based Enterprise with my Life Skills students.  We make and sell sugar scrubs.  Check out our link under Scrubs Your Stress Away.
