Education

 I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with an academic concentration in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. I also have an Applied Science degree in Marine Technology from Cape Fear Community College and a General Education degree from Louisburg College.

Experience

This will be my sixth year teaching Earth & Environmental Science at the High School level. I have 23 years teaching science experience with Onslow County Schools. I previously taught Elementary School at Southwest Elementary School for 16 years. I am also the assistant coach for Southwest High School women's soccer team.

Bio

My name is William Paul Starling and I teach Earth & Environmental Science classes at Southwest High School. I have taught in Onslow County Schools for 22 years. I graduated from the University of North Carolina @ Wilmington in 2002. My wife Michele Starling is also a teacher here in Onslow County currently working with Bellfork Elementary. I have 3 daughters all who have attended and graduated from Southwest High School. Morgan graduated  with the class of 2017, McKenna graduated in 2019 and Marla in 2021. I  also coached soccer with Southwest Soccer Club for about 15 years. I also enjoy fishing, camping, hiking, surfing and anything in the outdoors.
