Ms. Elizabeth Ingram
Becoming a teacher at Swansboro High School was the best decision of my teaching career. Swansboro High School and the Swansboro community are wonderful--Swansboro truly is the "friendly city by the sea."
I was born and raised in New Bern, NC where I currently live. My husband, Bruce, and I were married for 33 years, until his life ended on April 15, 2015. I have two children, Katie Beth and Will. My daughter is an elementary teacher in New Bern. She married David Lupton on June 25, 2016. My son is working a degree in Welding. My adopted children include three Cocker Spaniels named, Buster, Reese and Macy. My son has a cat named, Kaley and my daughter has a lab named Bo.
I have the privilege of working with three wonderful and talented assistants. They are Mr. Cribb, Mrs. Henderson and Mrs. Cornell. Together we work as a team to meet the needs of all our very special students. Together, we have a fun and exciting learning environment--never a dull moment!
At home, I continue teaching by helping adults earn their Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Special Education online. This has been a very rewarding experience to share and learn from other teachers across the US and the world. In 2003, I became a facilitator with the University of Phoenix (UOP). Since 2005, I have been an active member of the Delta Kappa Gamma National Honor Society of Women Educators.
In my spare time (summer), I enjoy shopping for antiques, vintage and collectible items that I sell in New Bern. In the last 20 years, I have taken up another hobby that I enjoy - family genealogy research. From this research, I have found family members that I never knew existed and have met family members that I had heard about from my parents.
