Meet Kristen Viszneki

Kristen Viszneki is the Chorus and Piano Teacher at Swansboro Middle School, the Director/Founder of the Swansboro Performing Arts Club (2006-), and the Pirate Yearbook Editor (2017-). Kristen began her music career at age 4 with private violin instruction. She studied at the Yale Prepartory Music School during middle school and earned the distinction of performing in New York's All State Symphonic Orchestra her Sophmore and Senior years of high school. She began her University studies, with the intention of becoming a lawyer; however, she graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Music. This year will mark an important milestone, as Kristen will have served as a North Carolina public school educator for 25 years!
Kristen has been very active in the greater community as the Music Teacher of White Oak Elementary School, the Drama Day Camp Director for 4-H Club, the Director of Music at St. Mildred's Church, a Music Instructor at Jessica's Dance Academy, and currently holds the position of Minister of Music at Swansboro United Methodist Church.
Kristen is mother to two amazing young men-- Joe, who is attending Furman University as a Percussion Studies Music major and 8th grader Max, who is a student at Swansboro Middle School. Kristen enjoys traveling, shopping, hiking, swimming, and all of the wonderful aspects of the greater Swansboro community. She is a true champion of Arts instruction for all young people and is a proud Dance Mom!

There is a $5.00 per semester music fee, payable to your homeroom teacher.
