This is my 8th year as an Adaptive Teacher at Swansboro Middle School. I received my Bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA, and my teaching certification from East Carolina University. I grew up in Virginia Beach, where my mom worked as a school nurse for almost 20 years, and my dad retired from the U.S. Navy. I am now married to my amazing husband, who is a retired Gunnery Sergeant from the Marine Corps. I have a son, Brendan, 22, who attended Swansboro Elementary in 5th grade, Swansboro Middle, and Swansboro High School, graduating in 2020. He is now a senior at NC State University, as a student-athlete. He plays football, so make sure to cheer on the Wolfpack! I am also blessed with 3 stepchildren, ages 17, 12, and 10. I spend my time outside of school enjoying the outdoors, cooking, walking/riding my bike, watching Wolfpack football, spending time with my family, and loving my beagle hound, Buddy.
