Mr. Sean Trees

Hello, and welcome to 8th Grade Social Studies.  My name is Sean Trees.  I was born in New Kensington, PA just north of Pittsburgh where I lived until I was 23.  I love the Steelers, Penguins, Pirates, and PITT Panthers and basically anything to do with the city of Pittsburgh (the greatest city on Earth!)

I attended St. Joseph's Elementary School in New Kensington, PA for grades K-8 and graduated from North Catholic High School (Class of '02) in Pittsburgh, PA.  I went on to attend John Carroll University in University Heights, OH (just outside of Cleveland) where I originally majored in Pre-Med before switching to education, and graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Middle Childhood Education (Math, Social Studies, and Reading.)

I completed my student teaching at Shaker Heights Middle School in Shaker Heights, OH during the 2006-2007 school year.  I have been teaching here at SMS for my entire career, beginning in 2007-2008.  At the school, I am currently a representative on the School Leadership Team, one of our school's Co-Athletic Directors, an assistant football coach, and an assistant wresting coach.  I have also served as a baseball coach (assistant 2008-2010, Head 2011- 2017), the head softball coach (2009-2013), assistant boys basketball coach (2011 - 2016), assistant girls basketball coach (2019), and as assistant athletic director (2015-2017).
