Degrees and Certifications:

  • I graduated from UNCW with a BA in Mathematics. I was a NC Teaching Fellow, which was very selective scholarship program that provided extra teaching experiences in college. I earned many different awards from UNCW including all semesters on the Dean's and Chancellor's Lists. I am also listed in the Who's Who of American Teachers.

I started my teaching career at White Oak High School in 2003 and have stayed here.  I am even in the same room! I have taught many different math courses from Algebra 1/Math 1 through Advanced Functions and Modeling. My favorite branch of mathematics is Geometry!

I serve as the Math Department Chairperson and consider it an honor to lead such a great group of teachers.

My husband, Marshall Smith, teaches engineering at White Oak. We have three wonderful children, Madison, Max, and Molly.
