Hours of Operation: The HCES Library/Media Center is open for students from 8:00 A. M. until 3:00 P. M. Monday through Friday.

Circulation Policies

Number of Books: Kindergarten and first graders are allowed to check out one book at a time. Students in grades two through five may check out two books.

Magazines: Students in grades two through five may check out magazines.

Loan Period: Students check out items for a two week period.

Overdue Books: Our media center does not charge a fine for overdue items. Students with overdue materials receive an overdue notice. The media assistant prints the notice every Tuesday and places it in the homeroom teachers' boxes. The teacher gives the notice to the students. This is a friendly reminder to turn in the overdue item(s).

Damaged Items: A fine may be charged for a damaged item. The amount of the fine will be at the discretion of the library/media specialist.

Lost Items: A fine will be charged for a lost items. The amount of the fine will be determined by the price of the item in Destiny, the automated system used in the HCES library/media center.
