Mrs. Anita Benton

I have a been a teacher in NC for 29 years. I have also taught part-time at Cape Fear Community College. As a Digital Teaching and Learning Facilitator for Onslow County Schools, I assist teachers and students at Dixon Middle School and in the Sneads Ferry area. My mission is to support and train students and teachers in the applications of technology for instruction. I love my job and I enjoy the students and staff I work with every day.

For 25 years I served in NC as a high school math teacher. Later in my career, I became interested in how students build knowledge with the use of digital tools and media. After 22 years of teaching math, I went back to college and completed my Masters of Science in Instructional Technology. Prior to working in Onslow County Schools, I worked for Chapel Hill - Carborro City Schools, New Hanover County Schools, and Brunswick County Schools.

I'm a highly motivated individual with a passion for learning. I have developed face-to-face and digital instruction for high school and adult learners. The last few years I have gained considerable experience developing computer-based instruction, managing and developing online instruction, and developing and maintaining websites.
