Mrs. Nancy Culrey

I was born and raised in the Boston area of Massachusetts.  In 1982 I move to North Carlolina with my husband, Pat.  Pat retired in 1996 after 20 years in the Marine Corps and we chose to remain here in Onslow County.  Pat holds a doctorate in educational leadership.  He currently works for NCSU as director of the Science House and does education outreach for the Center of Marine Science and Technology in MHC.

We raised two daughters, Megan and Erin, who both graduated from Swansboro High School.  Megan was a Teaching Fellow and graduated from UNCW and holds a graduate degree from ECU. She teaches at Broad Creek Middle School in Carterert County.  Erin graduated from NCSU with a degree in biomedical engineering.  She also completed doctorate program in Physical Therapy from Western Carolina University and currently works in New Bern as a pediatric physical therapist.

This is my twentieth year of teaching in OCS.  I was a classroom teacher at Swansboro Middle School for the majority of that time.  I taught sixth grade Science and or Math.  I have worked as a Digital Learning and Teaching Facilitator for the last five years.  I have enjoyed being part of this exciting time in Onslow County Schools as we have rolled out the 1:1 program across our campuses.
