What is Robotics Club?
Robotics Club is an exciting and fun experience for anyone interested in robotics, engineering, technology, physics, programming, computers, computer-aided drawing, machining, and design. It is a unique opportunity to see how mathematics, science, and communication skills transform into fully functional robots. Club members may participate in one of two competitions during the school year. Interested students should see Mrs. Anderson.
One competition for Robotics Club members is Lego League Robotics. The team will work to demonstrate success during various aspects of the competition. The competition is broken into three components: mission field, research project, and core values. This FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) competition challenges students not only in the robot and robot design but also on teamwork and other study skills.
Students may also participate in the underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) contest. Three student teams will build and accomplish tasks with ROVs. The annual competition is held at the Sports Center, Morehead City and is sponsored by NC State Science House and Burroughs Wellcome.
