Principal Corner

This is my seventh year as the Principal of Swansboro Elementary School and there is absolutely no place I would rather be! I have very quickly fallen in love with Swansboro Elementary with it's strong community spirit and tradition of high academic standards. My promise to you is to continue to do my very best to uphold these high standards and to seek out opportunities for even more growth. I am looking forward to working together to achieve many great things.

To share a little about my educational background, I received my Bachelor’s degree in Middle Grades Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2002. After teaching middle grades for four years, I decided to go back to college to pursue my dream of becoming a principal. I graduated from Western Carolina in 2008 with a Master’s degree in School Administration. I have served as an assistant principal for eight years, serving at Sycamore Lane Middle, New Bridge Middle and Dixon Elementary.  I began my first year as a principal right here at Swansboro Elementary. Go Pirates!

On a personal note, I enjoy spending time outdoors (especially at the beach) and love being a mommy to three wonderful children (McKay, Rylee and JP).  I feel truly blessed to have the opportunity to work with the students, staff and community of Swansboro Elementary.
