Mrs. Christina Vance

I was born and raised in Jacksonville, NC. I grew up loving art and dance which has carried with me into my journey as a teacher. My favorite things to do are go to the beach, arts and crafts, cook, go shopping, dance, spend time with family and just relax! Before becoming a teacher, I worked as an Interior Designer and furniture sales consultant. I also teach dance here and there. As I said I am from good old J-Ville. My family owns Diana's Dance Academy. Last year (2018-19) had some sorrow. I lost my aunt during the storm to cancer and my father 3 months later to lung cancer. My students got me through trying times. You will see picutres of my family, former students, and more in my gallery. You will also see my five silly kitties and 4 funny turtles.

I attended Coastal Carolina Community College right out of high school in 2007. In 2010 I transferred to The Art Institute of Raleigh-Durham where I completed my Bachelor in Interior Design. December 2017 I graduated with my Masters in Teaching Elementary Education. My next venture will be more praxis additions to my license to further my ability to assist all students in their education journey. Then will be National Board Certifications!

I believe learning never ends. I am currently learning more about my food allergies to help my health since in August 2019 I had surgery to further help my chronic/severe allergies. I am also re-learning how to play violin! I can't wait to share my love of learning with all my students. If you learn one new thing each day you will rest well in the evening.

  • This year I have invested in a monthly subscription to Universal Yums for part of our global studies. I am also trying to share the different cultures in the form of bilingual children's books via a Donors Choose project. The link is below if you would like to check it out, share, or donate to our project so we can get started sooner. The projects will expire if not funded by November 26th.
