    POSTIVE BEHAVIOR INTERVENTIONS AND SUPPORT PROGRAM

     

    MORTON ELEMENTARY TAKES PRIDE IN PROVIDING A SAFE AND RESPECTFUL LEARNING ENVIRONMENT FOR OUR STUDENTS AND STAFF TO HELP CREATE THIS ENVIRONMENT WE ARE PART OF THE PBIS PROGRAM. 

    THE PURPOSE IS AS FOLLOWS:

    Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a systematic approach to preventing and responding to classroom and school discipline problems. PBIS develops school-wide rules and systems that support staff in teaching and promoting positive and appropriate behavior for all students. PBIS helps create and maintain a safe learning environment where teachers are able to teach and students are able to learn. PBIS is a district wide initiative that takes 3-5 years to fully implement, but we are seeing some great results after only a short time, and we are excited about continuing our efforts this year.
