Participation Requirements for Summer Workouts
All players MUST HAVE a current physical and paperwork completed, signed and on file to participate!
Summer Workout Information
I am working on a schedule of summer workouts. Due to our gym being painted this summer (it will begin on June 19 with the anticipated finish date of July 21), we will have limited space to train, but intend to make the best of it. I will post a schedule as soon as I can on this page as well as send out information via Remind! Participating in summer workouts has no bearing on whether players make the team.
Summer League for Upper Classmen Held at Croatan
We will travel to Croatan to participate in Summer League games on June 21st, June 28th, and July 26th. There will be a limited number of spots for participation.
There will be 3 days of tryouts for the 2023 JV and Varsity volleyball teams. Athletes will be evaluated on their performance during tryouts. It is beneficial to attend all 3 days for coaches to evaluate each athlete. If an athlete does not attend all 3 days of tryouts, they will be evaluated based on what was observed during the day(s) they attended.
July 30, 2023, Check in will begin at 11:45 pm, Tryouts will begin at midnight and last until 2am. The side door will be unlocked for you to enter the gym. If you have paperwork to turn in, I would have your parents wait until it has been checked so that they don’t have to be called back to fill out missing information. Breakfast will be provided at the conclusion of the first tryout at 2am.
Athletes may leave at 2am or stay for a lock-in in the gym. It is not mandatory to stay. If you choose to stay for the lock-in, we will play games and watch a movie before heading to Emerald Isle to watch the sunrise (weather permitting). We will have snacks and drinks during the lock-in. Transportation will be provided to and from Emerald Isle beach by Activity bus to watch the sunrise. Parents can pick up athletes after our return around 7:15 am.
August 1 and August 2 will be the final two days of tryouts. At the conclusion of the first tryout, athletes will be told what time they should report for the August 1st and 2nd. They will either be assigned the 8:00-10:00 am slot or the 10:00 am-12:00 pm time slot.
