    Live Mas Scholarship Program-$25,000-100 awards

    To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must:  

    • Be on-track to apply for or enrolled in an accredited post-high school educational program
    • Be a legal resident of the 50 United States who is at least 16 years of age. 
    • Deadline is January 11, 2023

    American Quarter Horse Association Scholarship-$35,000-50 Awards

    To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must:    

    • Be a current AQHYA or ACHA member
    • Be in high school, college, or a university, depending on which scholarship you are applying for.

    Diversity Advancement Scholarship-$20,000-2 Awards

    To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must:    

    • Be a high school student planning to enroll in a NAAB-accredited architecture degree program
    • Be a US citizen

    Foot Locker Scholar Athletes Scholarship-$20,000-20 Awards

    To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must:      

    • Be entering college in the Fall of 2023 as a Freshman at a two or four-year school.
    • Be currently involved in high school sports, intramural sports, or community-based sports.
    • Deadline is January 30, 2023

    Points Scholarship-$2,500-12 Awards

    To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must:        

    • Be a high school student planning to attend college in September 2023.
    • Be a legal resident of the U.S. or Puerto Rico.
    • Deadline is January 31, 2023

    Material Handling Education Foundation Scholarship-$6,000-46 Awards

    To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must:

    • Be a resident of any of the 50 United States, District of Columbia  or US Territories
    • Be 16 years of age or older and be enrolled in college or registered in high school
    • Deadline is January 31, 2023

    -The Crystal Coast Choral Society will offer two scholarships of $500.00 each for 2023.  These scholarships will be given to seniors from public schools in Onslow and Carteret Counties, who plan to further their education in Music Performance, Music Teaching, or Music Therapy. 
    •  Deadline for scholarship is January 31, 2023. 

    -Marine Option Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC)College Scholarship. This scholarship pays 100% of tuition costs (averagingabout $180,000 per student), either in-state OR out-of-state, for four yearswhile a student completes their bachelor's degree. After receiving eightsemesters of tuition and a monthly stipend, students then commission as SecondLieutenants in the Marine Corps and begin a four-year term of Active Dutyservice. The attached flyer can be shared either physically or digitally toyour schools and sports teams. There is also a subset of Marine Corps NROTCScholarships that are specifically for HBCUs. The second flyer addresses thosespecial scholarships and lists all 17 HBCUs at which they can be used. BelowI've listed the basic requirements to submit an application:1. Students must be a United States Citizen2. Students must attend a school that has an NROTC unit on campus. In NorthCarolina, their options are UNC Chapel Hill, Duke, and NC State. However, theycan also go to school out-of-state if they so choose. Students must score at least a 74 on the ASVAB, OR a 1000 on the SAT, OR a22 on the ACT4. Students must pass a Marine Corps Physical Fitness Test that consists ofpull-ups, a plank hold, and a 3 mile run

    Society of Manufacturing Engineers Scholarship-$10,000-200 Awards

    To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must:

    • Be a graduating high school senior, current undergraduate or graduate student who will be enrolling as a part-time or full-time undergraduate or graduate student
    • Have a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale or a 70 on a 100 point scale.
    • Deadline is February 1, 2023

    McDonald's HACER Scholarship Program-$100,000-30 Awards

    To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must:

    • To be a high school senior that is younger than 21 years old and carries a minimum 2.8 GPA.
    • Have at least one parent of Hispanic heritage.
    • Deadline is February 6, 2023

    Vegetarian Resource Group Scholarships-$10,000-3 Awards

    To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must:

    • Be a senior in high school in the United States.
    • Have promoted vegetarianism in their schools and/or communities.
    • Deadline is February 20, 2023

    Women's Cyber Security Scholarships-$5,000-10 Awards

    To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must:

    • Be pursuing, or plan to pursue, a degree with a focus on cybersecurity or information assurance.
    • Be a senior in high school with a GPA of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.
    • Deadline is February 28, 2023

    -The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation application for the 2023 - 24 academic year is now open.  The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation provides scholarships to eligible children of Marines and Navy Corpsman, Chaplains, and Religious Program specialists.  The scholarships are for military children pursuing a post-secondary education at any accredited school - whether that be a trade school, career training program, community college, or four-year university. 
     
    The scholarship application for the 2023 - 24 academic year opened on January 1, 2023 and will close on March 1, 2023.
     
    Experimental Aircraft Association Scholarships-$5,000-20 Awards

    To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must:

    • Be at least 16 years old to apply.
    • Be planning to take one of the following: aerospace engineering, aviation business administration, air traffic control, aviation maintenance, professional flight, or any aviation-related STEM field.
    • Deadline is March 1, 2023

     Community Impact Scholarship-$2,500-2 Awards

    To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must:

    • Demonstrate active involvement in community service and exhibit strong leadership qualities.
    • Have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher
    • Deadline is March 2, 2023

    -The Montford Point Marine Association, Inc. Chapter 10 & Auxiliary has announced the Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. and the Mrs. Almita S. R. Woods Scholarships.  The scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $1000.

    Application deadline is March 15, 2023.
     
    Discover The Difference National Academic Scholarship-$5,000-1 Awards

    To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must:

    • Be a high school senior or college student pursuing an AA, Bachelor's, or Master's degree.
    • Have a minimum 3.0 GPA and maintain it throughout the academic year.
    • Deadline is March 20, 2023

    -The Bob R. McGuire Memorial Scholarship and the North Carolina Child Support Council Scholarship has been announced by the Orange County Child Support and Richmond County Child Support Services. 
    Applications must be postmarked no later than March 24, 2023.  Please contact you school counselor for more information.   
     
     
    -The NC Association of School Resource Officers Scholarship is a one-time, non-renewable $500.00 grant. Eligible candidates must be a high school senior on track to graduate, be a resident of North Carolina, and have a minimum un-weighted GPA of 2.5.
    All completed applications must be received no later than March 31, 2023.
     

    Scholarships with deadlines in April 2023 (see each scholarship for specific deadlines)

     
    -Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Tau Omega Omega Chapter will award multiple scholarships of $1,000.00 each, to qualifying high school seniors in the spring of 2023.  The scholarships will be awarded to students planning to obtain advanced education at a college or university.  The scholarships are identified as Mary Gary Brown/Geraldine Deloris Legett White Annual AKA Scholarship.  Students are reminded to state in the subject line:  Student's name and form being submitted, and year 2023.
     
    The scholarship application package, with all required components must be emailed to the Scholarship Committee of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Tau Omega Omega Chapter, on or before April 1st by 11:59pm.
     
    - Law School Opportunity Scholarship-$1,000-1 Awards

    To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must:

    • Be at least 17 years of age and planning to pursuing a degree in law.
    • Deadline is April 6, 2023

    -The Georgetown High School Alumni Association, Inc, North Carolina Chapter has announced the inaugural J. W. Broadhurst Scholarship.  This scholarship is open to black male seniors who will graduate and will be attending an institution of higher learning in the fall of 2023.
     
    Completed packets must be received by April 7, 2023.
     
    -The Deena L. Woods Scholarships are for deserving high school graduates who desire to make a difference in the world through the teaching profession, preferably with a focus in Early Childhood Education.  The Deena L. Woods Memorial Teaching Scholarship is designed to assist deserving high school graduates who have been a pillar in their high school and community, as demonstrated by their outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and compassion for their community.  The Deena L. Woods Memorial Teaching Scholarship will be awarded in the amount of at least $2,300.  Applications are being accepted from 2023 high school graduates of White Oak High School, Jacksonville High School, and Northside High School.
     
    All requirements of the application, and, all application forms must be received (postmarked) by April 25th. 
     

    Scholarships with deadlines in May 2023 (see each scholarship for specific deadlines)

    -Zeta Phi Beta Sorority has announced that their scholarship applications are now being accepted.  The scholarships are available to a graduating high school female senior residing and attending Camp Lejeune, Jones and Onslow County Schools.  These are one-time scholarships. 

    • The scholarships offer financial assistance, not to exceed the maximum of the award, to help cover the cost of tuition and related expenses.    The graduating high school female senior must meet the eligibility requirements.  This includes enrollment as a full-time student at an accredited college or university in Fall 2023.
    • The deadline to submit the application is by 11:59pm EST on Monday, May 1, 2023.  No application will be considered unless all of the documents are enclosed and received by the due date. 

     

    -The Onslow County Alumni Chapter of Fayetteville State University is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior who will be attending Fayetteville State University for the 2022-23 academic year.  Deadline for application is May 1, 2023.
     
     
     
    -The American Legion Scholarship: Scholarship awards are presented to the three finalists in the final round of the national contest as follows:  1st place:  $25,000; 2nd place:  $22,500; 3rd place:  $20,000.  Each department (state) winner who is certified and participates in the first round of the national contest will receive a $2,000 scholarship.  Each first round winner who advances to and participates in the second round, but does not advance to the final round, will receive an additional $2,000 scholarship to pursue education beyond high school.  
    • In addition to the scholarships awarded by the national organization, there are several hundred scholarships awarded at the discretion of intermediate organizations, to participants at post, district or county, and department levels of competition.

    -The American College Foundation has announced the Visionary Scholarship Program for the spring semester.  The spring application deadline for the 2023 - 2024 award year is June 1, 2023.
