Improv is one of Dixon's live theater programs, except we do not have a script, plot, or sometimes even characters. Every scene/game is made up on the spot by our actors and based on audience suggestions. At the beginning of the year, try-outs are held in order to create a team of 12-14 actors. Once our team is in place, actors spend practices learning the rules of different games by playing them. Improv can help improve stage presence, public speaking, and creative thinking. At least once a semester, Improv will have a show in which our team will perform in multiple games. The best thing about Improv is that everyone who attends our show gets to participate by bringing ideas our actors will used in each scene.
If you are interested in joining the Improv Team, look out for audition information or see Mr. Henderson.
