AVID Decades of college dreams

What is AVID?

  • AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a program that provides support to students who want to go to college but may not have the grades or the support at home because they will be a first generation college student.  AVID gives these students the tools they need to be successful in rigorous courses in middle school and beyond.

Here are the criteria that we look for when selecting our AVID students:

    • B/C student

    • First generation college student

    • Needs help with organization and study skills

    • Has the desire to attend college after high school

    • Has the potential to maintain a 70% in all of his/her classes.

AVID sounds like it can help me! How do I get into AVID?

This year, we are recruiting rising 6th grade students only for our AVID program for the 21-22 school year.
