Mrs. Ivy White

I am a very energetic, serious person who love to shop, sing, dance, and play softball.  I am the wife of my high school sweet heart and a retired marine.  From this union, we have been blessed with three children and a grandson.  I have worked in the Onslow County School System for many years.  I begin as an assistant teacher in the kindergarten classroom at Southwest Elementary.  Debra Bryant was the principal and the school had only been open five years before I entered.   I really enjoyed my 12 years of being a teacher's assistant in kindergarten.   I have also assisted in the first, second, third, fourth and fifth grades.  However, I actually fell in love with teaching while assisting in the kindergarten classrooms.   I decided to pursue a career in teaching.  While going through college I thought about myself as a kindergarten teacher.  I bought many kindergarten classroom items.  I was beyond happy when I graduated.  Kindergarten Here I Come!!!   Nevertheless, I begin my career as a prekindergarten teacher.   Five years later, I begin co-teaching at Southwest High School.  I loved my year as co-teacher in language arts.   However, my passion for teaching the little ones remains deeply in my soul.   I am happily embarking on a journey of teaching first grade.  It's not kindergarten, but close enough.  Once I get the nuts and bolts turning without squeaking and everything organized, "It's On!"   I am very flexible and always bloom where ever I am planted.   I am loving it!
