I am an international teacher from Jamaica with ten years experience in teaching. I obtained my diploma in teaching and my bachelors degree in teaching at the Early childhood level, at the Shortwood Teachers College and The University of the West Indies in Jamaica, respectively. I have had the opportunity to work with students of varying backgrounds and abilities from ages 3 to 10 years old. However, I have been teaching first grade here at Southwest Elementary for the past four years. I am passionate about teaching and learning and do believe that every child has the potential to perform well if provided with the right resources, ample opportunities and support.

Therefore, home/school collaboration is very essential in order to stimulate optimum performance. I take great interest in building and maintaining a positive relationship with my students, parents and all other relevant stakeholders for the maximum benefit of my students.
