Yanique Bucknor

Hey Pirates!

I am a Special Educator from Kingston, Jamaica where i spent all 28 years of my life. I went to the Mico University College in Jamaica and graduated in 2014. I moved to North Carolina in July 2018 to joined the SBMS family. I began my teaching experience in 2015 making this my 3rd year in this awesome field.  Over the years i have taught students with varying disabilities. I chose the teaching profession because i knew that i wanted to contribute to our society by helping to build and make a positive impact on our children. I try everyday to be the teacher that i would like my daughter to have.  I currently co-teach 7th grade Language Arts and Mathematics. I am married to an amazing young man with whom we share a beautiful nine year old daughter, Rihana. Since moving here i have been blessed to have met many awesome people. While in Jamaica in my free time i enjoyed reading books, playing netball, or communicating with my Deaf and Hard of Hearing students and friends. I am very excited about this new journey that i am on. I am excited to be apart of this awesome SBMS family! Go PIRATES!!!
