Miss Colleen Hulihan

Miss Hulihan is a graduate of The University of Akron with a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a concentration in trumpet. She attended Edinboro University of Pennsylvania earning her Post-Bac K-12 Music Teacher Certification. She taught middle school chorus in Warner Robins, Georgia for a year before relocating to Jacksonville, North Carolina to be the high school band director at NHS. 

The marching arts have been a large part of her life since she was a small child and she remains active in the activity at a state and international level. Miss Hulihan was in marching band from 7th-12th grade in high school. On the international level, she began her drum corps marching career in 2007 with Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps from Lexington, Kentucky. She went on to march mellophone for the Glassmen in 2008 and 2009 and conduct for the Cadets in 2012. She completed her drum corps career aging out with the Bluecoats in 2013 as a conductor. Miss Hulihan now teaches international groups during the summer. This will be her fourth season on the road teaching drum corps serving as an instructor for trumpets and drum majors.

When she is not teaching her own band program or drum corps, Colleen runs her own drum major training clinics that have included students in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Georgia, and North Carolina.
