Hello and Welcome, Third Grade Families!

My name is Kayla Anderson, and I am honored to have your student in our class this year.

While we will explore new material and master many skills in third grade, my greatest goal is to cultivate an environment where your student feels safe and part of a community. Relationships first! The Energy Bus principles help establish this balance within our classroom and school. Ask your student for more info about the Energy Bus!

This will be my sixth year at Meadow View Elementary. Meadow View continues to be a positive and rewarding place to grow as an educator, therefore, I consider it a blessing to be here another year. I graduated from UNCW with a Master of Arts in Teaching in Elementary Education. Prior to this, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing, which means I LOVE WRITING, and I strive to integrate this passion within our classroom. I am an Onslow county native, and a majority of my family lives in this area. The love for teaching runs in the family, as many of my family members are educators, including my favorite teacher, my mom, who teaches at Northwoods Park Middle School. I have a cat named Ophelia. My nephews and niece are my world and the funniest people I know. I enjoy traveling, iced coffee, nature trails, and collecting houseplants (my home looks like a jungle).
