Ms. Beverly Otte

Hello Carolina Forest Elementary Families!  I would like to tell you a little about myself.  I was born in Chicago, Illinois, and when I was 4 years old my family moved to Addison, IL, a suburb near Chicago. I played 16" softball in middle school, and in high school I ran Cross Country and Track and was a member of the National Honor Society.   After college (B.S. in Law Enforcement) I got married and we moved to Belvidere, IL when my children were entering elementary school.  My daughter and son started running in grade school for a team called the Belvidere Tornadoes, a youth cross country team.  I coached that team for 4 years, and every year our team would go to the National Youth Cross Country race!!  We've raced at Disney World, Virginia Beach, Nashville, and Decator, Alabama.  My children went on to run through middle and high school (I coached high school girls cross country for one year).  They also sang in the Choir at school! I then went back to school and got my Masters in Education and PE/Health.  My daughter and I moved down to Jacksonville August 2018 when my son was stationed at Camp Lejeune.

My son is a truck mechanic and a US Marine Veteran who lives in Arizona now, and my daughter is a chef and lives in Oregon with her US Marine Veteran husband.  I have a cat named Izzy that keeps me company!

This is my 11th year teaching PE, and my 5th year here at Carolina Forest, and I'm so excited about teaching all the students from last year and all the new ones that are joining us!
