Mr. Joshua Bosse

Hello, and welcome to the Automotive course here at the Eastern North Carolina Regional Skill Center. My name is Joshua Bosse, and I am the automotive instructor. I have recently joined the ENCRSC team, coming with more than 12 years of various automotive, light and heavy-duty commercial vehicle experience. I spent the last year and nine months working for the City of New Bern as one of three garage mechanics. I worked on various vehicles, such as cars, pickup trucks, light and heavy-duty trucks as well. I also worked on other pieces of equipment, such as tractors, backhoes, woodchippers, and pretty much any kind of equipment that the City of New Bern had. Before working at the City of New Bern, I worked for ten years with a local service/ tire and commercial road service company called Colony Tire. During my ten years with Colony Tire, I worked my way up through the ranks, starting as a Commercial Tire Technician all the way to Store Manager. During that time, I learned many new skills from changing commercial tires on/off the road, servicing and repairing light trucks and automobiles, servicing commercial heavy-duty trucks both at store or at fleet site, to writing service orders and eventually running a store myself. I also hold ASE certifications in Steering and Suspension, Brakes, Electrical and Maintenance/Light Repair. While I would like to say that the automotive field was always where I was determined to go and make a career, that story is just not the case for me. After graduating from High School in a town in Northern Illinois called Belvidere, I enlisted in the Air Force Air National Guard. While in the Air National Guard, I worked as an Aircraft Mechanic on the KC-135 Air Refueling Tanker for six years. It was here that would eventually get me to the Automotive Career I have today, but several years down the road. It was during my time in the Air National Guard that I earned several different college degrees, with the highest being my Bachelor of Arts. I also earned two Associates degrees, one as an Associates in Science and the other is Associates of Applied Science in Aviation Maintenance Technology. While attending college, I met my wife, and we were blessed with two sons: Josiah and Isaiah. After leaving the Air National Guard and completing college, I moved my family out to the east coast. We initially moved to Lynchburg, Virginia and loved it there. We resided in Virginia for four years until an opportunity presented itself to come and move closer to family living in North Carolina. So, we made the move to New Bern, where I started my career in the automotive industry working at Colony Tire. It is truly a privilege to be part of such an outstanding school district as Onslow County is. It is also an honor to work at the Regional Skills Center where I will be educating and partnering with your students in the automotive industry to excel them into the career of their future!
