Mrs. Shannon Ashworth

Hello! My name is Shannon Ashworth. I was born and raised here in Jacksonville, but I have also lived in Virginia and Arizona! I graduated from the University of North Carolina, Wilmington, with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. I am pursuing a Master of Arts in Reading and Literacy Education at East Carolina University. A fun fact about me is that my husband and I, along with our four daughters, live on a small hobby farm with lots of animals!  Teaching is a lifelong passion of mine, and I enjoy watching my students bloom as friends, readers, writers, mathematicians, thinkers, and so much more. I genuinely believe in the words spoken by Malala Yousafzi, "One child, one teacher, one book, one pen can change the world." I absolutely love teaching kindergarten, and I am looking forward to another year full of fun and tons of learning!
