Welcome to our 3rd grade classroom. I am beyond excited to kick this year off. This is my fourth year teaching 3rd grade at Bell Fork. While I have not taught in any other grade, I am fully convinced that 3rd grade ROCKS!!!

I remember my fourth grade teacher whispered that she knew I would be a teacher. The thought of being a teacher tickled me because everyone knows fourth graders think younger children are just "not cool". Lo and behold, I am in my fourth year of teaching and I couldn't imagine doing anything else.

About Me:

I am a Florida native. Growing up in Florida initiated a sense of determination. It was not until I attended the University of Florida that I realized in what capacity I would utilize my newfound "sense". I studied the Arts, with an emphasis in Theatre. I was determined to assume roles that would influnce people for the better. I married my husband in 2008, which brought me to Jacksonville, NC. My skills in the arts were merged with my responsibilities as a child care provider on base. I used the arts to initiate important topics and to spike curiosity amongst the young minds I worked with. I learned very quickly the impact the Arts has on student leanrning. Observing the positive impact of the arts on learning ushered me to start the Masters of Arts in Teaching program at UNCW. I graduated in May of 2015 and started teaching that same year.

I took a break from teaching after having my son in 2016. He is my joy! Seriously, ...he is my joy!

I am so ecxited to share this journey with your child.

I love spending time with my family. Time just always seems to go by so quickly. Therefore, taking trips with my family, even if its to the local library, is something I look forward to. I like to read as well.
