• White Oak High School 2020-21 Student Code of Conduct

The student handbook was reviewed with homerooms during the first week of school (8/17 - 8/21/20).   If you have any questions, please ask!

The handbook sections are replete with references to expectations (i.e. stay in class, don’t leave campus, don’t fight even if provoked, don’t use profanity even when you think it is appropriate, etc.). Most of the “rules” come down to a basic principle:  You are to follow the reasonable directives of staff (teachers, administrators, custodians, bus drivers, teacher assistants, media specialists, office staff, coaches, etc.).  Failure to follow directives can result in disciplinary action up to and including out of school suspension and disorderly conduct charges.  This is of course at the extreme edge of issues.   The student isn’t the judge of reasonability.  Being “reasonable” has nothing to do with “making sense” to the student.  Follow the directive (i.e. move seats, give me your name, put that away, stop, don’t go there, etc.) and if you feel you are mistreated, bring your concerns to the office afterschool.  (OCS 4301 pages 36/37).

The purpose of the 2020-21 Student Code of Conduct is to make White Oak High School a great place to work and learn.   If you have questions or concerns, please see an administrator.  Remember, they aren’t my rules or your rules…  they are our rules.     Students- please sign the homeroom roster by 8/25/20- Green Crew OR 8/28/20- Gold Crew.
