Mrs. Anna Kamm

Welcome to Kindergarten!

Hello families! My name is Anna Kamm and I am one of the kindergarten teachers here at Coastal Elementary School. I am very excited to part of the new school and to be a part of this kindergarten team. I can't wait to work with all the future leaders that come through these doors.

About Me

I have only lived in North Carolina since 2005 with a short 3-year break to move to Okinawa with my family from 2010-2013. I am originally from Taylor, Michigan. I have been happily married to my husband Jason for almost 18 years now. Together we have 4 amazing children: Kyle (21) Ethan (19) Cayla (18) and Lillian (14). In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and watching my kids play sports and going out on the boat. Soccer is the favorite sport in our family. I am originally from Michigan and a huge fan of the Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers, and the University of Michigan, GO BLUE! We are a military family so we have traveled and moved quite a few times. While we know that home is wherever the Marine Corps takes us, it is nice to be settled and call North Carolina our home!

I started in the education field while living in Okinawa in 2013 as a substitute teacher for one year while attending college through University of Maryland University College working on my degree in Psychology. I then started working full time as a paraprofessional at Lester Middle School for my remainder of time on the island. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology in May of 2013. Shortly after returning to the states I continued in the education field working as an EC Teacher assistant at Parkwood Elementary School in 2013. This is when I decided to go back to school and become a teacher. I love working with children. I started attending school at University of North Carolina Wilmington and graduated with my teaching certificate in December of 2016. This year will be the start of my 6th year in teaching.  I did my internship at Blue Creek Elementary School and remained a Blue Creek Bronco  until joining the Pelican crew this year.
