Bio: I was born in Jacksonville, NC in 1994. I lived in Jacksonville until I was about four years old, and then moved to Kings Mountain, NC where I stayed until attending college. After attending Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC, I decide to return to Jacksonville, NC to start my teaching career. I also moved back to Jacksonville, NC to be closer to my family and the beach. I am married to my college sweetheart Nicholas Truelove, and have two dogs Serena and April, and one cat piggy. I am excited to see what my time here at the forest has in store. Go EAGLES!
Education: I attended Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC. I graduated Magna Cum Laude in May 2016 with a bachelor's degree in Inclusive Education.
Experience: I have had some experience in the classroom since 2010. During my time in High School, I participated in a Teaching Program called Teacher Cadet, which helped me gain experience before pursuing my teaching degree. During my time in college, I gained 50 hours of service in a High School Adaptive Classroom, as well as participated in the University Participant Program, which helps adults with disabilities get a college experience for two years. I completed my internship at Cullowhee Valley Elementary school, in a Kindergarten classroom and in a K-2 EC classroom. I am certified in Kindergarten-6th grade Elementary Education and Kindergarten -12th grade Special Education. I am also certified in moderate to mild disabilities, and severe to profound disabilities. This is my second year teaching and my second year at the forest.
