Bio: I was born in Jacksonville, NC in 1994. I lived in Jacksonville until I was about four years old, and then moved to Kings Mountain, NC where I stayed until attending college. After attending Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC, I decide to return to Jacksonville, NC to start my teaching career. I also moved back to Jacksonville, NC to be closer to my family and the beach. I am married to my college sweetheart Nicholas Truelove, and have two dogs Serena and April, and one cat piggy. I'm excited to see what my time here at the forest has in store. Go EAGLES!
Education: I attended Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC. I graduated Magna Cum Laude in May 2016 with a bachelor's degree in Inclusive Education.
Experience: I have had some experience in the classroom since 2010. During my time in High School, I participated in a Teaching Program called Teacher Cadet, which helped me gain experience before pursuing my teaching degree. During my time in college, I gained 50 hours of service in a High School Adaptive Classroom, as well as participated in the University Participant Program, which helps adults with disabilities get a college experience for two years. I completed my internship at Cullowhee Valley Elementary school, in a Kindergarten classroom and in a K-2 EC classroom. I'm certified in Kindergarten-6th grade Elementary Education and Kindergarten -12th grade Special Education. I'm also certified in moderate to mild disabilities, and severe to profound disabilities. This is my third year teaching and my third year at the forest.
