Mrs. Whitney Collard

Hello! I have spent the last five years in the classroom in various positions; substitute, tutor, and teacher's assistant.  This is my first year at Swansboro Middle School as an EC teacher, I couldn’t be prouder to be a Pirate. My educational background includes an Associates of Social Science degree from Central Texas College and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Special Education from Grand Canyon University. I have chosen to work as an EC teacher because I believe that every student can succeed when they are provided the right resources and encouragement. It is all about the light bulb moments and daily victories.

I am married to my high school sweetheart; have two children, Cameron and Lola; and one yellow lab, Remi. I am originally from Texas, but have lived in California, Okinawa Japan, and North Carolina courtesy of the United States Marine Corps. It is safe to say that of all the places we have lived; Swansboro feels the most like home. I love spending time with my family, paddle boarding, fishing, hiking, traveling, and cooking.
