Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Jefferson

I am an Onslow County native - I attended Parkwood Elementary, New Bridge Middle, and Jacksonville High. I went on to attend the University of North Carolina and graduated from there in 2017 with a Bachelors in Sociology. I have always loved math and privately tutored math grades 6-12 while in high school and college. This is my first year at Hunters Creek Middle, so I understand some of the nervousness our new sixth graders are feeling! I am so excited to meet everyone and be a support system for our students and their familes while we transition to a new school and navigate the digital learning space together.

  • For most of our correspondence we will be using Remind. Text @jeffhcms6 to 81010 to be added to this year's Remind group for my 6th grade math class. This will be how I send reminders about class to everyone, and parents can use this to text me directly with quick questions. We all have busy lives and its very easy to miss phone calls, so texting through Remind can help us communicate more effectively throughout the year. You are also more than welcome to email me at - please allow a 24-hr turn around during the week for correspondence, especially emails. For more information about the class this year, please see my syllabus that is in the "syllabus" tab on the left.

For the most part, the kids and I will communicate using Microsoft Teams. This is where I will post weekly updates so the students know what is coming up, this will be where most of the assignments will be completed and turned in, and it is where the students will call into class on the days they are at home for remote learning. As stated above, Remind will be primarily how parents and I will communicate. After the first week or so of school, I will begin to call parents just to introduce myself, so please make sure the contact information you have with the school is up-to-date.
