Hello, my name is Paul Newby, and I am excited to be your new chorus and piano this year. 

I was born and raised in Dallas, TX, joining the Marine Corps after high school.  In high school I sang baritone in the A Capella choir, as well as playing trumpet in the marching, concert, and jazz bands.  I spent 13 years working in field artillery and aviation electronics, finishing up my last tour as an instructor.  I found my love for teaching as an instructor, and decided to pursue my degree in music education.  I attended Coastal Carolina Community College for two years before transferring to the University of Mount Olive.  I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Mount Olive with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education in 2020.    After completing my student teaching at Dixon High School, I was offered a position at Sand Ridge Elementary and spent two incredible years there.  

I am ready for a great year here at Richlands High School!
