    Happy Monday,

    As we wind down this week ending the 2018-2019 school year, I would like to thank you all for the privilege of sharing in your child's educational development. The year went fairly well for the most part. Your continued support is expected at the next level, to ensure optimal outcomes and productivity. One phrase to sum up the school year.....MY KIDS ARE SOMETHING ELSE!!!!!!!:)

    Please be reminded that our end of year awards ceremony will be held this Wednesday, June 12 at 10:15 am in the multipurpose room; all are invited. Reports will be sent home 6/14/2019; otherwise they can be picked up at the office. HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!

    Two weeks to go for the kiddos!!!!!!! It has been a great week! A big thank you to all the parents who came out in the heat on Tuesday for Field day 2019.... Please note the following for the upcoming days:

    • June 3rd.......Please ensure your child brings in all checked out books
    • June 3rd.............Pre-EOG......kids will relax at school, as they mentally prepare the exams... (book-bags must be empty, except for laptop....Students will take home their books)
    • June 4th- EOG Math Grades 3-5 (a healthy breakfast is encouraged....no devices/phones/smart watches...ensure fully charged laptop)
    • June 5th-EOG ELA Grades 3-5 (a healthy breakfast is encouraged....no devices/phones/smart watches...ensure fully charged laptop)
    • June 12......Awards ceremony.....4th grade at 10:15 - 11:15 (time has been changed as of 5/30/2019)

    Happy Friday,

    I hope all is well, and everyone is set for a relaxing weekend. Thanks very much for returning the interim reports and federal cards. Please note no schedule will be posted for the two school days next week. There will be no assignments. We will be working on the concepts we started this week, and complete a few assessments.

    These two days will be regular days of work and routine. With that being said, please enjoy the upcoming break of Thanksgiving. We have much to be thankful for:)

    • A gentle reminder that all laptops must be charged and ready for school; earbuds or headphones is a must for laptop use.
    • Homework and focus is posted on the school website, and your child's OneNote (Spelling and Vocabulary) section.

    Happy Friday,

    I trust we all had a product a productive week. It is always a pleasure to be here with my students. I am pleased to report that we all had a good week; we worked hard, made mistakes, did our corrections and just simply enjoyed being here as a class and school family.

    Just a few things to note:

    • permission slips for our upcoming trip must be turned in by 11/6/2018...cost $4.00
    • Picture Day is 11/6/2018.....our class is scheduled for 9:07 am
    • laptops must be charged daily and ready for school......
    • each student must be equipped with earbuds or headphones for class use......
    • grades will be updated in PowerSchool this weekend.....

    Any questions, suggestions or concerns, just shoot me an email. Homework and focus schedule for next week has been posted. Please continue to work with and encourage your child to achieve the utmost; the sky is the limit!!!! Be blessed, and have a great weekend:)

    Good afternoon,

    I am so happy to be back at school; looking forward to seeing my kiddos!!!!!! It is hoped that you were all able to access the work I pushed out on Study Island and ReadWorks:)

    Work info that was outlined for Sept. 10 - 14, 2018 will continue this week. * Starting next week, students will be given vocabulary words along with the spelling words.....Next week's schedule will be posted this coming weekend.

    I trust we all had a productive week:) Thanks so much for coming out to the 1:1 sessions held yesterday. Students will take home their laptops as of today;please ensure they are fully charged and brought to school daily, along with earbuds. Homework and focus schedule for this week is posted.....A Spelling Choice Board activity must be done daily for homework. Please be reminded that we have snack time, so students may bring a snack daily, along with a bottle of water. In our pursuit of excellence, ensure full preparation for school each day, so our kids are equipped to perform at a maximum and their utmost.

    Good afternoon,

    I hope you are all enjoying the extended weekend. Just keeping you in the loop.....Laptops have been issued to the students, but they cannot be taken home unitl after the meeting between parents/guardians and the IT/admin. personnel. You will be informed of the scheduled meeting.

    The first week of school was great. Our students are learning to adjust to the changes, and becoming more familiar with routines and expectations. Please continue to work with us in nurturing and educating the students, so they can perform at their utmost, and simply be the best they can be:)

    Homework and focus schedule for this week is posted.....Spelling Choice Board will be issued tomorrow to help with spelling homework. Will will start vocabulary further on in the month......I need to get the kids in the groove of things first...(tiny steps).

    Happy Friday,

    EOG is over!!!!!!! The kids will be attending the school Glow Party today at 2:00pm which is scheduled within school time. We will have regular dismissal and pick ups.

    Please remember, EOY awards will be held......Thursday June 7, 2018 at 10:30 am in the multi-purpose room. We will be having a class party on Friday June 8, 2018.....Contributions of snack packs, mini muffins, cookies, juice boxes and mini bottled sodas are needed to make this event a success:) Students will go for regular lunch at scheduled time.

    Ms. Mathis the records officer is asking please to inform her if your child will not be returning to CFIES for 2018/2019 school year; email her at andreana.mathis@onslow.k12.nc.us.

    I hope all is well. Please note that your child has been given a letter with pertinent information for EOG next Wednesday (5/30/2018) and Thursday (5/31/2018). The letter outlines guidelines and expectations. 

    For my class, students do not need to bring books in their bags to school, only the fully charged laptop and charger; lunch box fine.... No work material needed; everything will be provided. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE check your kiddo before leaving home. Absolutely no phones, watches or other electronic devices:)

    Happy Friday,

    I sincerely hope you all had a great week. I am happy to report that the trip went well for the most part, and we came back to school safely. A big thank you to my parents who came out to help and support the kids. Also, thanks for the kind contribution of snacks for the class.....

    Next week is School Employees/Teachers Appreciation week; 4th grade parents are being asked to contribute breakfast items on Wednesday May 9, 2018.

    We are making sure we end the school year on a great note; please continue to encourage and support your child/ward in all his or her efforts. Preparedness for school daily is essential in the pursuit of excellence and success. Remember, the sky is the limit!!!!
